Paul Sponcia talks with immigrant Christos Christopoulos and shares his family's journey from Greece to America and their challenges in adapting to a new language and culture. Having spent his youth working in his family's gas station business, Christos instills their values of hard work and sacrifice into his own construction business, Christopoulos and Kennedy Construction. As an immigrant, Christos learned to value giving more than taking, which is a principle he upholds in his business. Besides constructing notable buildings in Knoxville, Christos detailed his career starting from working in the construction industry right after college, taking on multiple roles ranging from project manager to later building a shopping center in Florida and several major projects in Tennessee. His effectiveness and efficiency were enhanced by a special spreadsheet he developed for construction estimates.
